Betty discovered her love of painting in 2006 and since then has worked enthusiastically to make up for lost time. When she discovered non-objective art around 2009 she realized that this was her niche and has devoted herself to this art form ever since.
She has been accepted into many Juried art shows in the Toronto and Eastern Ontario region and has received many kudos for her work. Recently she won Best in Show at the Uxbridge Celebration of the Arts and was accepted into the prestigious juried art show Next 2 at the Arts and Letters Club in Toronto.
Mike began his painting career as a hobby to pursue during his retirement, but the hobby quickly morphed into something more, when he discovered non-objective art. He is a sophisticated colorist, mixing and mingling with ease incredible combinations of colors that draws the viewer into the picture. He has won several awards at local juried art shows. Here’s what he has to say about himself,
“I like using acrylics because of their versatility and have developed my own style, characterized by a joyous exploration of colour and form which entice the viewer to explore the painting more deeply to discover its meaning. My works have been displayed in several local galleries and at many shows throughout Ontario. Recently I have received a Third place finish and an Honorable Mention at the Oshawa Art Association Juried Art Show.”
